Train and equip a group of brave Hilltop volunteers to provide Damage Assessment, Fire Suppression or Containment, Search & Rescue, Injury Evaluation, First Aid Treatment and Patient Transport following a disaster which overwhelms professional emergency services.

- Simulated Disaster Practice Drill - Saturday September 7, 10 AM - 2 PM, HERO Command Center at North Little League Ball Field.

- New organization makes navigation to Phase 1 verses Phase 2 Response Tasks easier.
- Enhanced Search & Rescue procedure reduces S&R Team workload and increases safety.
- New S&R procedure uses SIZE-UP, SEARCH, SPACE (Primary assessment), and RESCUE as mnemonic for procedure steps.
- Enhanced Medical Team procedure speeds patient injury assessment.
- New Patient Evaluation Checklist combines prioritized diagnostic checks and First Aid into a one-page checklist.
- New Memory Aids for Primary Assessment ("Give the injured some SPACE"), and for Secondary Assessment ("Give them HOPE").
- First Aid procedures updated to latest Red Cross Emergency Medical Response, LA County PreHospital EMS, and US Army Field Medical Protocols.
- Other enhancements.
